The Festa della Madonna Assunta is the patronal feast of Val Rezzo, a mountain municipality of just over 160 inhabitants in the province of Como, in the upper Valsolda area, at altitudes between 871 and 1,716 metres. A Parish of Ancient Roots
The heart of the festival is the Church of Santa Maria Assunta, which probably dates back to the 16th century and which, from 1641, the year it was established as a parish, was significantly transformed. The feast of the Assumption of Mary, a holy day of obligation that coincides with Ferragosto, is one of the most important moments of the year for the village community.
