About Luino in Festa

At the end of June, Luino celebrates its patron saints, Peter and Paul, with Luino in Festa: a day that culminates on the lakefront of Lake Maggiore amidst tradition, sport, and entertainment. The heart of the festival is the Rowing Palio, with its boat races, followed by High Mass, a procession, DJ sets, and a grand twenty-minute fireworks display on the water. A deeply felt event, uniting popular devotion and community celebration in the city of Varese.

The patron saints of Luino

Luino in Festa is the patronal festival dedicated to Saints Peter and Paul, patrons of Luino, a city overlooking Lake Maggiore in the province of Varese. The occasion, deeply rooted in the city's tradition, combines religious, popular, and spectacular elements, animating the lakefront on one of the most anticipated days of the Luino summer.

The Rowing Palio

Among the most characteristic events is the Rowing Palio, a boat competition where city teams challenge each other in heats and an evening final. The races begin in the late afternoon and culminate with the night-time final, under the eyes of the crowd gathered on the lakefront.

Faith, celebration, and fireworks

The day also includes High Mass and a procession dedicated to the patron saints, moments of music and DJ sets, and concludes with a grand fireworks display lasting about twenty minutes on the lake. A spectacular finale that draws residents and tourists, sealing Luino's community celebration between tradition, sport, and entertainment.
