Anffas Family Festival

A festival of inclusion in the heart of Trentino

The Anffas Family Festival is the most anticipated event in the life of Anffas Trentino Onlus, the association that has been supporting people with intellectual and relational disabilities and their families for over sixty years. Every year, in late spring, the festival draws about three hundred people from across the province of Trento to Pian del Gacc, a vast pine forest nestled in the greenery and quiet overlooking the village of Fornace, in Trentino-Alto Adige.

A day of community

More than just an event, the Family Festival is a time for gathering: families, facilities, collaborators, volunteers, friends, administrators, and staff from the association and the Laboratorio Sociale Cooperative come together to enjoy each other's company. The day focuses on the values of inclusion and participation, set in a natural environment that encourages meeting and conviviality.

The typical program

The festival unfolds throughout the day following a well-established rhythm:

• Morning: opening of the festival and concert by the Civezzano Band;
• celebration of Holy Mass in the setting of the pine forest;
• Communal lunch at noon, an opportunity for all participants to meet;
• Afternoon with musical entertainment, awards ceremony, and inflatable games for the little ones.

Organizers

The event is promoted by Anffas Trentino Onlus with the support of a dense network of local entities: the Municipal Administration of Fornace, the local Alpini section, the Parish, the Civezzano Band, the Coret Choir, and the Fire Brigade. This collaboration testifies to the festival's deep roots in the Municipality of Fornace and the entire Trentino community.

Pian del Gacc, the ideal setting

Pian del Gacc is a vast wooded area a short distance from the center of Fornace, a popular destination for picnics and hikes. Its tranquil atmosphere and lush nature make it the perfect setting for a day of celebration open to everyone, where each person can feel part of a large community.
