A fair with four centuries of history

The Ancient and Great Fair of Pont-Saint-Martin is one of the oldest commercial events in the Aosta Valley: its origins date back to the 17th century, making it one of the most deeply rooted traditional events in the region. It takes place in the municipality of Pont-Saint-Martin, in the Lower Aosta Valley, at the entrance to the Lys Valley.

Livestock, goods, and agricultural machinery

The fair maintains its historical dual nature. The historic center and squares host stalls selling various goods, from crafts to local products; the cemetery area, on the other hand, is dedicated to the market for livestock and the exhibition of agricultural machinery. The event typically takes place in the morning, from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

More than just a market, the Ancient and Great Fair is the main annual event for merchants and breeders from the Lower Aosta Valley, the nearby Canavese region, and the Lys Valley.
