Two autumn weekends of new oil, trekking in olive groves, tastings and music
Amololio — Montefalco between olive trees, flavors and traditions is the event that celebrates freshly pressed extra virgin olive oil in Montefalco, in the heart of the Valle Umbra in the province of Perugia. Included in the Umbria Open Oil Mills calendar, the event takes place over two autumn weekends and transforms the city and its countryside into a journey through taste, nature and culture.
The program alternates trekking in the olive groves and walks suitable for all ages, guided tastings, cooking shows and workshops for children. The experiences take place in the most evocative locations in Montefalco — from the San Francesco Museum Complex to the cloisters and squares — often accompanied by art and music.
Between walks in ancient olive groves, snacks offered by local wineries, and pairings of oil, wine, and food, Amololio is an opportunity to discover the identity of Montefalco, a village famous for Sagrantino wine and its olive oil tradition.
The 2026 edition of Amololio is expected in Montefalco in October, as tradition dictates, over two weekends. The event celebrates freshly pressed extra virgin olive oil with trekking in olive groves, walks for all ages, guided tastings, cooking shows, and moments of art and music in the city's most evocative locations.
The precise dates and program for the 2026 edition have not yet been published as of May 30, 2026, and will be communicated by La Strada del Sagrantino in the weeks preceding the event.
The detailed program for the 2026 edition will be published by the organizers closer to the event. As tradition dictates, Amololio is spread over two October weekends with trekking in olive groves, guided tastings, cooking shows, and workshops for children, accompanied by art and music in the main spaces of Montefalco's historic center.
