The historic jazz festival of the Reggio Emilia hills, since 1988
Albinea Jazz is one of the leading music festivals in Emilia-Romagna for authorial jazz. Organized by the Municipality of Albinea, in collaboration with the Emilia-Romagna Region and the Acid Tank Association, the event will reach its 39th edition in 2026: a milestone that places it among the longest-running and most followed jazz festivals in Italy. The artistic direction has been entrusted for many years to Vilmo Delrio, who has successfully built a program capable of alternating great international masters with new voices from the contemporary scene.
What makes Albinea Jazz special is the choice of venues. The main concerts are held in the evocative Parco di Villa Arnò, a historic residence nestled in the greenery of the Albinea hills, while the preview and more experimental events take place at the Parco dei Frassini "Margherita Hack". Listening to jazz under the stars, in a quiet park a few kilometers from Reggio Emilia, is an experience that combines musical quality and landscape beauty: this is the formula that has been building audience loyalty for almost forty years.
The 2026 edition features four high-level concerts, one more date than the usual three-evening format:
Tickets are on sale on Vivaticket and directly at the box office on the evening of the concert. The preview evening on July 22 costs a flat rate of 13 euros, while concerts at Villa Arnò and Rivalta cost 25 euros (full price) and 12.50 euros (reduced for under 18s, residents of Albinea, and people with disabilities). For those who love jazz and are looking for an summer of quality music in the hills of the Reggio Apennines, Albinea Jazz remains an unmissable event.
The 2026 edition marks a novelty: four concerts instead of three. It kicks off on Wednesday, July 22, at Parco dei Frassini "M. Hack" with Iranian percussionist Mohammad Reza Mortazavi (preview, ticket 13 euros). On Monday, July 27, at Villa Arnò, the Cécile McLorin Salvant Quartet takes the stage; on Wednesday, July 29, also at Villa Arnò, the Danilo Rea Trio with Ares Tavolazzi and Dave King; on Thursday, July 30, at Parco della Reggia di Rivalta, Victor Wooten & The Wooten Brothers.
