A day of music, hiking, street food, and a farmers' market in the village of Villamagna
Al Dì di Festa is the annual spring event that transforms Villamagna—a charming hamlet in the municipality of Bagno a Ripoli (Province of Florence, Tuscany)—into a vibrant village celebration for an entire day. Promoted and organized by the Pro Loco per Bagno a Ripoli with municipal patronage, the festival is designed as a social gathering that brings together local residents and visitors arriving from nearby Florence and the Chianti region.
From morning until evening, the village streets host over thirty stalls featuring local produce and artisanal crafts, offering a perfect opportunity to support local farmers and discover the culinary delights of the Florentine hills. Street food is a highlight, with stalls and gourmet shops such as La Dispensa di Fernando, Contrada di Bacco, and local gelaterias, bakeries, and butcher shops providing authentic flavors that define the day.
The main square of Villamagna turns into an open-air stage. The day begins with classical music from the Solisti dell'Accademia del Maggio, followed by rock, funk, and soul concerts, and DJ sets that keep the energy high through the afternoon and evening, keeping the crowd dancing until late. The eclectic musical program is designed to suit all tastes and maintain a lively atmosphere from sunrise to sunset.
Among the most popular features are the guided hikes through the surrounding hills, organized in collaboration with local partners like Legambiente and the Gruppo Trekking Bagno a Ripoli. These include loop trails such as the "In the Footsteps of Blessed Gherardo" and the longer "Pilgrims' Paths" route. For the little ones, there is a dedicated play area featuring music workshops, magic shows, and games, making the entire day a free, family-oriented experience.
Al Dì di Festa is a free-entry event that celebrates the identity of a region rich in popular traditions, local products, and a strong sense of community. To make attendance easy, a free shuttle service runs from Bagno a Ripoli to Villamagna, providing a convenient solution for those who want to enjoy the day without worrying about parking.

Over thirty farmers' market and craft stalls were set up along the village streets, accompanied by numerous street food stands. The square hosted a rich musical program, while the garden area featured activities for families. The day was rounded off by two guided hikes through the hills of Bagno a Ripoli.
