A celebration of young volunteer firefighters in Torre Pellice
The AIB Summer Fest was established in 2026 in Torre Pellice, in the heart of the Pellice Valley, in the province of Turin, Piedmont. It is a brand-new event, conceived and organized by five young volunteers aged 17 to 24 from the Torre Pellice AIB and Civil Protection Squad, in collaboration with the local Pro Loco. The goal is twofold: to introduce the community to the daily work of those involved in forest fire prevention and suppression, and to raise funds for new equipment for the team.
The event takes place in Piazza San Martino, the main square of Torre Pellice, transformed for the occasion into a large open-air meeting point. The first day opens on Friday afternoon with a display of firefighting vehicles and equipment, accompanied by themed games and an aperitif. The evening comes alive with music, while Saturday is dedicated primarily to families and children, with bouncy castles and recreational activities.
The most characteristic moment is the firefighting module demonstration: teenagers and children can observe the team's operations up close and, by wearing the uniform, step into the shoes of the volunteers. It is a concrete and engaging way to introduce new generations to the value of civil service and the protection of the mountain territory of the Pellice Valley.
A bar service is available throughout the festival with the option to dine on-site, while the evenings are enlivened by DJ sets. The atmosphere is typical of Piedmontese village festivals: simple, welcoming, and deeply connected to the community that organizes it.
All proceeds from the AIB Summer Fest go towards purchasing new equipment for the firefighting team, making this festival not just a leisure opportunity but also a concrete gesture of support for the volunteers of Torre Pellice and the entire Pellice Valley.
The first edition of the AIB Summer Fest was held on Friday, June 5, and Saturday, June 6, 2026, in Piazza San Martino in Torre Pellice.
