A celebration of tractors and farming traditions in Staffoli
Every June in Staffoli, a bustling village in the municipality of Santa Croce sull'Arno in the Province of Pisa, the Agritractors – Tractor Driver Festival takes place, an event that has quickly captured the hearts of the lower Valdarno area. Born in 2024 from Luca Lotti's passion for engines and the land, the festival has grown rapidly, now attracting over one hundred tractors—both vintage and modern—along with their drivers, their families, and thousands of curious visitors each year.
More than just an exhibition of agricultural machinery, Agritractors is a tribute to Tuscan farming tradition. Along Via Livornese and Via Ugo Foscolo, tractors are on display from the morning, later parading through the town streets to the sound of applause and horns. In the fields near the AVIS Center, plowing and threshing demonstrations come to life, with the spectacular night plowing under floodlights having become the festival's signature event.
Piazza Panattoni becomes the beating heart of the event, hosting a farmers' and craft market, educational workshops for children, a petting zoo, pony and horse rides, falconers, and bouncy castles. The program is designed for all ages, allowing children to engage with the rural world in a playful and direct way.
A highlight is the tractor driver awards ceremony, with prizes for the youngest and oldest drivers, the newest and oldest tractors, those traveling from furthest away, and those exhibiting the most vehicles. The event has attracted numerous officials, from the Mayor of Santa Croce sull'Arno to the Governor of Tuscany. To complete the experience, there is locally sourced food featuring typical regional products, dinners in the square, and convivial lunches at the AVIS Center, all in an atmosphere of authentic popular joy.
Organized by the Tutti per Feno Association with the patronage of the Municipality of Santa Croce sull'Arno, Agritractors is now one of the most cherished agricultural festivals in the leather district, successfully blending a passion for engines, rural identity, and a sense of community.
For its third edition, Agritractors brought Staffoli to life over the weekend of June 13-14, 2026, confirming its status as one of the most popular agricultural festivals in the lower Valdarno. From Saturday morning, Via Livornese and Via Ugo Foscolo were filled with vintage and modern tractors, while plowing demonstrations took place in the fields near the AVIS Center. The day concluded with threshing in Piazza Panattoni, dinner, and the evocative night plowing. On Sunday, after the gathering and the parade through the town, the final lunch was held along with the tractor driver awards ceremony.
