The summer programme of music, folklore, and theatre in Alto Molise
Agnone Estate is the rich programme of summer events that the Municipality of Agnone, together with the Pro Loco and the Molise Region, organises every year between July and August. Designed for all tastes and ages, it combines music, theatre, folklore, cinema, exhibitions, and experiential activities, enhancing the historic centre of this town in Alto Molise, in the province of Isernia.
The programme alternates great music and popular culture: from concerts by the Molisana Symphony Orchestra to tribute bands, from jazz to the UFIFEST International Folklore Festival, to vernacular theatre and film screenings. There are also photographic exhibitions, cultural walks, and experiential activities, often hosted in prestigious locations such as the Cloister of San Francesco, Largo Sabelli, Piazza Plebiscito, and the renowned Marinelli Bell Museum.
Agnone Estate also accompanies local festivals and feasts — such as the Festa del Mare in the hamlet of Villacanale — transforming the entire month of August into a succession of events. It is the ideal opportunity to discover a village rich in history, from ancient bell foundries to cheese-making traditions, immersed in the atmosphere of Alto Molise.
The 2026 edition of Agnone Estate will once again offer, as every year, a calendar full of events between July and August: classical and light music concerts, tribute bands, folklore festivals, vernacular theatre, open-air cinema, exhibitions, and family activities in the most evocative locations of the village. The detailed programme will be announced by the Municipality of Agnone, the Pro Loco, and the Molise Region in the weeks before summer.
The detailed 2026 programme, with dates, artists, and venues, will be published by the organisers closer to summer (consult the Visit Agnone website and the channels of the Municipality and the Pro Loco). The usual structure includes concerts between Largo Sabelli, the Cloister of San Francesco, and Piazza Plebiscito, the International Folklore Festival, vernacular theatre, and open-air cinema.
Agnone is located in Alto Molise, in the province of Isernia, reachable by car via the SS86 Istonia. The nearest train station is Isernia (about 45 km away).
The complete calendar is published each year and distributed via the Visit Agnone website and the channels of the Municipality and the Pro Loco. Many events are free admission. Contacts: Pro Loco Agnone, tel. +39 0865 77249.
