A Market Exhibition Half a Century Long
MacchiadiVino is the historic market exhibition of wine and flavours in Macchia d'Isernia, a municipality in the province of Isernia. Founded in 1974, it is one of the longest-running food and wine events in Molise and has helped make the village "the town of wine and blues". Every September, the historic centre comes alive with stands, tastings, and a food and wine tour through the cellars and streets of the village.
Pentro Wine Takes Centre Stage
The heart of the event is the promotion of Pentro Wine, a designation linked to the Isernia area, and typical Molise products. Alongside the market exhibition is the Regional Wine Competition "Premio Ercole", authorized by the Ministry of Agriculture and reserved for Molise wineries: in 2026, the Municipality established a dedicated register of tasting commissioners to ensure a technically qualified jury.
Wine, Music, and Community
Over the years, MacchiadiVino has combined its food and wine offerings with a rich programme of concerts and shows, also hosting well-known names in Italian music. The event ideally dialogues with the town's other major festival, the Macchia Blues Festival, in a pairing that tells the identity of Macchia d'Isernia.

The confirmation of the 2026 edition of MacchiadiVino comes from the establishment, in February 2026, of the register of tasting commissioners for the Regional Wine Competition "Premio Ercole", authorized by MASAF and reserved for Molise wineries. The selection of technical and expert tasters aims to ensure the competition has a qualified jury capable of enhancing the region's wine production. The market exhibition of wine and flavours thus confirms its September date in the historic centre of Macchia d'Isernia.
