The Feast of Our Lady of Health is the most important event in Castelmauro, a municipality in Lower Molise in the province of Campobasso. It is celebrated in early September, traditionally from September 7th to 10th-11th, and revolves around the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Health, a place of strong devotion and a pilgrimage destination.
Rites, Processions, and Popular Celebration
The solemnity begins on September 7th with the traditional fair in the morning and continues with Eucharistic celebrations, processions with torchlight from the Sanctuary to the Church of Sant'Antonio, band concerts, and fireworks. Over the years, the program has also included the traditional auction and the solemn procession in the Foltarella area, testifying to a feast that deeply intertwines faith and popular tradition.
