A season that inhabits time

The Nuovo Teatro Scaletta is a young cultural space already deeply rooted in the community of Scaletta Zanclea, a small town in the Province of Messina overlooking the Ionian Sea along the eastern coast of Sicily. Housed in the Multifunctional Cultural Centre in Piazza Don Bosco, the theatre presents its most ambitious programme yet with the Abitare il Tempo season: twelve shows enlivening the stage from October through May.

A programme of drama, comedy, and music

Curated by artistic director Maurizio Puglisi, the festival was born from the idea of "inhabiting time through the performing arts, weaving together different stories, languages, and generations." The programme alternates between major drama, social theatre, comedy, and musical tributes, welcoming a broad and diverse audience.

For a town like Scaletta Zanclea, the establishment of a permanent theatre represents much more than just a series of shows: it is a beacon for cultural and social growth. As highlighted by the municipal administration, the Nuovo Teatro Scaletta has become a reference point for community life and the entire Ionian area of Messina, capable of attracting prominent names from the national theatre scene to the province.

Tickets and subscriptions

Tickets for individual shows can be purchased on the LiveTicket platform. Full-price tickets cost 15 euros, reduced tickets (under 30 and over 65) are 10 euros, while youth under 14 can enter for 5 euros; purchases via the Carta Docente are also accepted.
