The Abendkonzerte (evening concerts) by the Bürgerkapelle Sand in Taufers are a staple of summer in Campo Tures (Sand in Taufers), a town in the Ahrntal valley in the province of Bolzano, Trentino-Alto Adige. For several weeks between July and August, the Festpavillon in the town center becomes an open-air stage for local brass music: a tradition deeply rooted in South Tyrolean culture, where every municipality and almost every hamlet prides itself on its own Musikkapelle.

The Campo Tures civic band is one of the oldest musical groups in the area: in 2021, it celebrated its 200th anniversary, a testament to how integral Blasmusik is to the community's identity. During the evening concerts, the Bürgerkapelle alternates with bands from nearby towns, such as the Musikkapelle Weißenbach (Rio Bianco) and the Musikkapelle Ahornach (Acereto), offering a varied program ranging from traditional marches to polkas, waltzes, and lighter entertainment pieces.

Atmosphere and program

The concerts generally take place on Friday evenings (with some Saturday dates), from 8:30 PM to 10:00 PM, under the bandstand. Admission is free, with support for the association provided through voluntary donations; no seat reservations are required. Alongside the music, the public can enjoy a food and drink service managed by the musicians themselves (cash only), making the evening a moment of celebration and gathering for both residents and tourists vacationing in the valley.
