The Abbazie Summer Festival is the major summer music series organized by Luzmek ETS - Concerti delle Abbazie, which every year brings life to dozens of villages and abbeys in the province of Teramo, in Abruzzo. It is a widespread, itinerant festival featuring over thirty concerts spread across approximately forty-five days, bringing jazz, funk, world music, and contemporary classical music to the most evocative locations in the Teramo area. Within this circuit, the Municipality of Castellalto takes center stage thanks to the village of Castelbasso, one of the most beautiful and characteristic spots in the region.

Castelbasso, a village for great music

Perched on a hill overlooking the Vomano Valley, Castelbasso is a small medieval village known for its cultural vocation and its close collaboration with the Fondazione Menegaz, which is active in promoting contemporary arts and culture. During the Abbazie Summer Festival, the scenic Piazza Belvedere transforms into an open-air stage: here, music engages with ancient stone, narrow alleys, and the panoramic views of the Abruzzo hills.
