About A Few Steps for Peace

A Few Steps for Peace is a traditional non-competitive walk that brings together citizens, families, and associations from the Valle del Chiese and Giudicarie regions every spring. This short route through the villages of the Valle di Daone, in the municipality of Valdaone (Trentino-Alto Adige), combines outdoor activity, social connection, and a commitment to peace and solidarity. The event is deeply rooted in charity, with proceeds supporting social and humanitarian projects.

A walk for peace through the Giudicarie villages

A Few Steps for Peace is a non-competitive charity walk held in the Valle di Daone, within the municipality of Valdaone (Province of Trento, Trentino-Alto Adige), just a stone's throw from the border with the Valle del Chiese. Originally conceived as a moment for meeting and shared reflection, the event has become a traditional spring appointment that attracts citizens, families, and numerous local associations from the Giudicarie area every year.

A route for everyone

The walk follows a simple, accessible path that winds through the villages of the Valle di Daone, including Daone, Praso, and Agrone, with the meeting point and start located in Bersone. Along the route, refreshment stations managed by volunteers provide participants with moments of rest and conviviality. As it is not a race, the event is designed to be enjoyed at a leisurely pace, in good company, and suitable for all ages, from children to the elderly.

Solidarity and community spirit

The heart of the event is solidarity: all proceeds are donated to non-profit organizations and humanitarian projects. The walk is organized by the Gruppo Campeggio with the patronage and collaboration of the municipalities of Valdaone and Pieve di Bono-Prezzo, the B.I.M. del Chiese, the Family District, the Cassa Rurale, and numerous local social, cultural, and sports associations. This network of collaboration is a testament to the strong community spirit that defines the Giudicarie and Valle del Chiese regions.

A message of peace in the heart of Trentino

Beyond the sporting and recreational aspects, A Few Steps for Peace serves as an opportunity to reflect together on the themes of peace and brotherhood among peoples—values deeply felt in a territory like the Giudicarie, which is marked by the memory of the Great War. Walking through the valley's villages becomes a symbolic and concrete gesture, combining the joy of being outdoors with the desire to build, step by step, a more supportive world.
