The singing competition for young talent in Castelluccio dei Sauri
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The «A Caccia di Voci Nuove» Singing Festival is a historic musical event in Castelluccio dei Sauri, a small town in the province of Foggia, in the Puglian Capitanata. Active since the early nineties, the festival reached its 35th edition in 2025, a milestone that makes it one of the town's most deeply rooted and long-standing cultural events. Its goal, which has remained consistent over time, is to discover and showcase new voices: emerging singers, young performers, and enthusiasts who aspire to perform before a real audience and a jury.
The event is managed by the Compagnia Teatrale Paese Mio, a local cultural association that has been enlivening the artistic life of Castelluccio dei Sauri for decades. The competition is part of the broader municipal summer program, Sauri Summer, which fills the town's squares and historic center between July and September with concerts, shows, festivals, and popular events, most of which are free to attend.
The festival typically takes place over two consecutive evenings in mid-August, set up outdoors in the town center. Contestants take turns on stage, performing traditional Italian songs, pop music, covers, and original pieces, accompanied by the warmth of the local audience. The performances of the competing singers are interspersed with entertainment and special guests: the 2025 edition featured the special guest appearance of Sergio Viglianese, who graced the final night of the competition.
More than just a competition, «A Caccia di Voci Nuove» is a collective ritual that marks the summer in Castelluccio. In a small town in northern Puglia, the festival represents an opportunity for social connection and local pride, capable of attracting families, music lovers, and visitors from neighboring towns. Its continuity over time testifies to the deep bond between the community and its artistic traditions.
The singing competition coexists with other major events during the Castelluccio dei Sauri summer: the patronal feast of the Most Holy Savior and Our Lady of Grace in early August, the Wine&Blues festival organized by the Pro Loco, as well as reggae nights and tribute concerts. Those visiting the town in August will find a packed calendar of events that make Castelluccio, as the organizers like to say, a reference point for the summer in the Capitanata.
The 2026 edition of the A Caccia di Voci Nuove Singing Festival does not yet have an official calendar. The competition, organized by the Compagnia Teatrale Paese Mio in Castelluccio dei Sauri, in the province of Foggia, is traditionally held in mid-August: the dates, the evening program, and registration information will be announced by the organizers in the weeks leading up to the event. This page will be updated as soon as the information is published.
The evenings take place outdoors in the historic center of Castelluccio dei Sauri (FG), in Puglia, as part of the Sauri Summer program.
Castelluccio dei Sauri can be reached by car from the Candela motorway exit (A16 Naples-Canosa) or from Foggia along the SS90 road. The nearest train station is in Foggia, approximately 25 km away.
Admission to Sauri Summer evenings is generally free, unless otherwise specified by the organizers.
Updates and details regarding competition registration are published on the official «A Caccia di Voci Nuove» Facebook page.
