Gravel cycling adventure through the Crete Senesi, Val d'Orcia, and Chianti regions
80 Voglia di Gravel is a non-competitive cycling event, without rankings or stopwatches, held annually in Rapolano Terme, in the province of Siena, Tuscany. Organized by the A.S.D. Gravel Bike Siena sports association, the event is dedicated to "slow" cycling: the goal is not performance, but the pleasure of discovering the most iconic landscapes of the Sienese lands from the saddle.
The meeting point, start, and finish line is the Parco dell'Acqua in Rapolano Terme, just a stone's throw from the historic thermal springs of Antica Querciolaia. From here, participants set off onto the unmistakable white roads that shape the Tuscan hills.
The event offers four gravel tracks designed for every level of fitness, all immersed in the Crete Senesi, the Val d'Orcia, and the Chianti:
The event is open to gravel bikes, mountain bikes, e-bikes, and cyclocross bikes; road bikes are discouraged but permitted. The number of participants is limited to a maximum of 700.
80 Voglia di Gravel is about more than just riding. The registration fee includes the race pack, technical and medical assistance along the route, and numerous refreshment stops featuring Tuscan gastronomic specialties. The days are enlivened by aperitifs, street food, live music, and the final "Gravel Party" with awards and refreshments upon return.
For those staying until Sunday, there is an optional tourist ride, the "Gravel Gruppo Vacanze," a relaxed pedal to enjoy the Sienese hills one last time before heading home.
Set in a territory famous for its thermal baths and stone (the travertine of Rapolano), the town of Rapolano Terme offers the perfect setting for a weekend of outdoor sports and wellness. After kilometers of gravel, the local thermal waters are the best way to recover your energy.
The 2026 edition of 80 Voglia di Gravel kicked off on Friday, May 8, with registration, technical packet collection, and race packs available from 3:00 PM, followed by an aperitif at 5:00 PM and, from 7:30 PM, street food and live music with the Ringo Boys.
