Two days of tractors, agricultural machinery, and village festivities in the hills of the Tanaro Valley
In the heart of the Upper Tanaro Valley, the small town of Perlo (Province of Cuneo, Piedmont) transforms every mid-August into a meeting point for dozens of tractors and agricultural and forestry vehicles. The Piedmont and Liguria Tractor Rally, reaching its sixth edition in 2026, has become a consolidated tradition in the summer calendar of the Monregalese and Tanaro Valley areas: a popular, authentic event that puts the farming world, its machinery, and village conviviality at the center stage.
As the name suggests, the rally looks beyond Piedmont: every year it attracts participants from nearby Liguria, with historic and modern vehicles crossing regional borders to gather in Perlo. For the 2026 edition, the Pro Loco of Perlo, led by president Daniele Ferrero, has signed a twinning agreement with the Pro Loco of Roburent: a pact between the two associations to join forces, promote the territory, and support two events that have been providing great thrills to participants for years.
The rally program alternates between spectacular moments and social gatherings. Saturday is dedicated to welcoming participants, a dinner open to all, and a festive evening featuring the now-famous Miss Trattorina parade and a final DJ set. Sunday is the highlight: a gathering of vehicles in nearby Nucetto, a scenic tour through the villages of Perlo accompanied by a marching band, a lunch prepared by the Pro Loco, the blessing of the vehicles, and the highly anticipated skill and precision tests, where drivers compete at the controls of their agricultural and forestry machines. To wrap up, awards are given for the most beautiful tractors and the most skilled drivers.
More than just a simple exhibition of machinery, the Perlo Tractor Rally is a festival that tells the story of the rural identity of these valleys and gives a voice to an agricultural and forestry world currently facing difficult times. Under the patronage of the Municipality of Perlo, the event is an opportunity for meeting, sharing, and valuing traditions linked to the land, capable of attracting families, the curious, and vintage motor enthusiasts from all over the Cuneo area and beyond.
