The non-competitive charity run in Torre Pellice
The 5mila della Val Pellice is a non-competitive running event that brings the town of Torre Pellice to life every June. Located in the Metropolitan City of Turin, in the heart of the Val Pellice valley in Piedmont, this event is more than just a raceโit is open to everyone. Amateur runners, walkers, fitwalking enthusiasts, and even leashed four-legged friends can join in, covering a five-kilometre loop immersed in the landscape of the Waldensian valleys.
The initiative is organized by the Lions Club Luserna San Giovanni - Torre Pellice with the patronage of the Municipality of Torre Pellice. The event's hallmark is its commitment to charity: the entire proceeds from registration fees are donated to a specific cause chosen by the club each year. Running or walking the 5mila means making a tangible contribution to the Pinerolo community.
The course is a five-kilometre loop with a gentle elevation gain, designed to be accessible to everyone, from trained runners to families simply looking for a pleasant stroll. The start and finish lines are located in the town's sports area, and the route winds through the most picturesque corners of Torre Pellice and the Val Pellice valley.
As the historic heart of the Waldensian Valleys, Torre Pellice preserves a unique cultural heritage in Piedmont, filled with temples, museums, and traditions tied to the Waldensian community. The 5mila della Val Pellice is the perfect opportunity to discover this territory in a sporty and convivial way, combining outdoor activity, community spirit, and charitable commitment.
On Friday, June 12, 2026, the Area Sport e Movimento in Torre Pellice hosted a new edition of the 5mila della Val Pellice. The meeting point for registration and technical t-shirt collection was set at 5:00 PM, with the race starting at 7:30 PM.
The route featured a 4.99 km loop with a +100m elevation gain, open to runners, fitwalking enthusiasts, walkers, and leashed four-legged friends. At the end, a pasta party was held for all participants.
For this edition, all proceeds were donated to the Lions Guide Dog Service, reaffirming the event's charitable mission.
