Food and wine walk through the vineyards of the Colli Piacentini in Ziano
4 Steps Among the Vineyards is a food and wine walk that takes place in Ziano Piacentino, a small municipality in the Province of Piacenza, in Emilia-Romagna, considered one of the most representative wine-producing centers of Val Tidone. The event offers an itinerary of about 5 kilometers on dirt and asphalt roads, winding through the rows and gentle hills of the Colli Piacentini, offering participants suggestive views and the opportunity to discover the wine landscape up close.
The route is marked by seven tasting stops, each dedicated to a pairing between a traditional Piacenza dish and a local wine produced by the cellars of the Sette Colli Association of Ziano Piacentino. Along the way, you can taste bruschetta with Val Tidone oil, Piacenza cured meats and cheeses accompanied by Ortrugo Colli Piacentini, tagliolini, pisarei e fasö with Gutturnio DOC, meat main courses with red wines, and traditional desserts such as Piacenza ring cakes, ending with a final sorbet.
The event opens the calendar for Welcome Val Tidone, the territorial marketing project that enhances the municipalities of Val Tidone and promotes their food and wine and landscape excellences, with the support of the Emilia-Romagna Region. The initiative, organized by the Pro Loco of Ziano Piacentino together with the Municipality and the Sette Colli Association, involves about a hundred volunteers each year and attracts visitors from all over Lombardy and beyond.
Designed for families, groups of friends, and wine lovers, 4 Steps Among the Vineyards combines the pleasure of an outdoor walk with the discovery of the authentic flavors of the Piacenza land. The meeting point is in Piazzetta Dante Sabatico, in the center of Ziano, from where groups depart at staggered times. It is a simple and genuine way to get to know the Val Tidone territory, its cellars, and its gastronomic tradition.
On Sunday, May 24, 2026, approximately 300 people walked the 5 kilometers through the vineyards of Ziano Piacentino, nearly doubling the previous year's numbers. The meeting point was set for 11:00 AM in Piazzetta Dante Sabatico, with staggered departures every 20 minutes until 1:00 PM.
The seven stops offered bruschetta with Val Tidone oil, Piacenza cured meats and cheeses with Ortrugo, tagliolini with Nero di Pecorara, pisarei e fasö with Gutturnio DOC, pork cheek with red wines, Piacenza ring cakes with sweet wines, and a final lemon sorbet. The event, organized by the Pro Loco of Ziano with the support of about a hundred volunteers, inaugurated the Welcome Val Tidone project.
Ziano Piacentino can be reached by car from the A21 (Castel San Giovanni exit), continuing towards the hills of Val Tidone. The meeting point is in Piazzetta Dante Sabatico, in the town center.
Advance booking required. Full ticket (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) €45, reduced for ages 4-12 €20, free under 3 years old. The ticket includes a glass and tastings along the entire route.
