Thirty years at the service of the community

The 30th Anniversary of the Prascorsano AIB Team marks three decades of the Forest Firefighting and Civil Protection squad in this small town in the Alto Canavese, within the Metropolitan City of Turin (Piedmont). For thirty years, these volunteers in yellow uniforms have watched over the forests, slopes, and villages of the Val Gallenca, responding to forest fires and providing aid during emergencies, floods, and natural disasters affecting the area.

A civic celebration for the community

The event, scheduled for June 20th and 21st, 2026, is not just an internal celebration for the team, but a true village festival. It is an opportunity for the Prascorsano community to rally around its volunteers, thank them for their quiet, constant work over the years, and pass on the value of volunteering and caring for the common good to younger generations. Anniversaries like this, deeply felt in the towns of the Canavese, combine memory, conviviality, and a sense of belonging.

The heart of the event: the equipped area

The Prascorsano team has its own equipped area dedicated to the memory of Father Ernesto Pacchiotti, a space that historically hosts the group's meetings and social gatherings. The team's associative life revolves around this symbolic place, from volunteer training to initiatives aimed at the public.

The setting: Val Gallenca and Alto Canavese

Prascorsano is located in a hilly and mountainous area at the foot of the Sanctuary of Belmonte, in a territory where the protection of forest heritage has always been a priority. The AIB teams of the Piedmont Forest Firefighting Volunteer Corps, of which Prascorsano is a member along with neighboring Canavese teams, represent a fundamental safeguard for the safety of rural and mountain areas. Celebrating thirty years of activity means recognizing the irreplaceable role of these groups in the social fabric of small towns.
