About 24H Extreme

The 24H Extreme in San Giovanni Incarico is the first ultracycling race ever held in the Ciociaria region. Athletes face up to 24 hours of non-stop riding on a 39.9 km circuit with 670 meters of elevation gain, winding through the villages of the Frosinone province. As an official World Ultracycling Cup event, it offers 6, 12, and 24-hour formats, blending extreme sports with regional promotion and a powerful message of resilience championed by the Boccadamo Foundation and coordinator Stefano Pellegrini.

The first ultracycling race in Ciociaria

The 24H Extreme – Ultracycling Endurance Race was established in 2026 as the first ultracycling competition ever held in the province of Frosinone. The inaugural edition, which took place from February 28 to March 1, 2026, with the start and finish in the heart of San Giovanni Incarico, immediately earned recognition as an official World Ultracycling Cup event, bringing an extreme discipline that combines physical endurance and mental strength to the heart of southern Lazio.

The circuit: 39.9 km through the villages of Ciociaria

The track is a technical and scenic loop of 39.9 kilometers with 670 meters of positive elevation gain per lap. From the center of San Giovanni Incarico, the route passes through Ceprano, climbs the hills of Falvaterra, descends towards Pastena, enters the village of Pico, and returns to the starting point, also touching the hamlet of Isoletta. It is a condensed showcase of the Ciociaria landscape that athletes repeat non-stop, day and night, even braving the damp cold of late-winter nights.

Three race formats: 6, 12, and 24 hours

  • 6 hours: the sprint test, an introduction to endurance;
  • 12 hours: the challenge between day and night;
  • 24 hours: the ultimate test, a full day in the saddle without stopping.

Rankings are available for solo, pair, or team participation, with male and female categories divided by age group. Timing and live tracking are managed via the Race Result platform.

The 2026 inaugural edition

About sixty athletes took part in the first edition. In the 24-hour race, Cristian Bianchetti, the European champion in the discipline, dominated the field, completing 16 laps for a total of 640 kilometers and 10,400 meters of positive elevation gain—a performance that marked his return to competition after a serious injury. Among the women, Sara Mazzorana from Terni stood out, covering 477 kilometers with 7,808 meters of elevation gain.

Sport and resilience with the Boccadamo Foundation

The race is organized by ASD Adventure Extreme thanks to the determination of coordinator Stefano Pellegrini, an internationally renowned ultracyclist, together with the Boccadamo Foundation. The event's founding message is resilience: transforming difficulties into opportunities. This was embodied by Tonino Boccadamo, president of the Foundation, who inaugurated the competition by riding a handbike. The event received the patronage of the Lazio Region and the support of local institutions, starting with the Municipality of San Giovanni Incarico.

Towards 2027: RAAM qualification

The success of the inaugural edition has already projected the event into the future: the next edition is announced for February 27, 2027, confirmed as a World Ultracycling Cup event and a qualifying race for the legendary Race Across America (RAAM). A permanent late-winter fixture that aims to make Ciociaria an Italian capital of ultracycling.
