Nature photography exhibition by Marcello Chifari at the Rochemolles Ethnographic Museum
From June 28 to August 23, 2026, the Rochemolles Ethnographic Museum, located in the mountain hamlet of Bardonecchia (a town in the Province of Turin, upper Susa Valley, Piedmont), hosts the photography exhibition "Wings and Colors of the Little World" by nature photographer Marcello Chifari. The exhibition offers a joyful and surprising journey among nature's small acrobats, captured in flight in highly detailed photographs, discovering the secret dance of butterflies, bees, and other tiny protagonists of the sky.
A Turin-based engineer with a long-standing passion for photography, Marcello Chifari focuses with particular care on the study of the flight of small animals. His images, characterized by an almost painterly rendering of movement and color, are the result of patient research and a deep attention to nature. Having already been featured in Bardonecchia with the exhibition "A Stone's Throw from the Ground" dedicated to birds, the artist returns to the upper valley with a new project entirely focused on the miniature world of flying insects.
Rochemolles, now a hamlet of Bardonecchia but an autonomous municipality until 1926, is a mountain village nestled in the valley of the same name. The Ethnographic Museum is housed in the building that served as the village school until the 1960s and was born from the donation of objects, work tools, and everyday items from the past. Over the years, the collection has been enriched with the traditional costume of Rochemolles, the sacred furnishings of the Chapel of the Madonna degli Angeli, and some lace made using the bobbin technique. It is in this setting rich in alpine memory that the photography exhibition takes place.
The exhibition follows the museum's summer opening hours:
Admission is free. Visiting the exhibition is also an opportunity to discover the hamlet of Rochemolles and the nearby Mill, precious testaments to the alpine culture of the Susa Valley.
