Tastings, local flavors, and live music at Parco La Valletta in Giuliano Teatino

Every summer, the small village of Giuliano Teatino, in the province of Chieti, transforms into an open-air lounge dedicated to wine and conviviality. Wine Nights is the event the municipality dedicates to the local food and wine culture, hosted in the charming setting of Parco La Valletta. It is an evening where the wine glass becomes the common thread to share the history, art, and traditions of this corner of Abruzzo.
The festival is part of the major national program Wine Nights, a summer format promoted by the National Association of Wine Cities (Associazione Nazionale Città del Vino), which involves hundreds of Italian municipalities every year between June and September. In Abruzzo, the initiative unites various wine-producing villages in the province of Chieti and beyond, with the aim of promoting wine culture in its many facets: history, art, gastronomy, and community. Giuliano Teatino has long participated in this network, showcasing the excellence of its local wineries.
The heart of the evening lies in the tastings of wines selected from local cellars, accompanied by traditional dishes from the Teatino area. The territory of Giuliano Teatino has always been dedicated to viticulture: the local Cantina Sociale, active since the early sixties, preserves the production of native Abruzzo grape varieties such as Montepulciano d'Abruzzo and Trebbiano. Live music accompanies the tasting, creating that festive, town-square atmosphere that characterizes the summer festivals and feasts of Abruzzo's villages.
Nestled among the rolling hills of the province of Chieti, just a few kilometers from the Trabocchi Coast, Giuliano Teatino is a small town in Abruzzo where life flows to the rhythm of the agricultural seasons. Wine Nights represents a moment of gathering and pride for the community, an opportunity to open the town's doors to visitors and enthusiasts and to share the products of a generous land, amidst vineyards, olive groves, and cherry orchards.
The evening typically takes place in August, in the heart of the Abruzzo summer. Free admission and a festive atmosphere make the event suitable for everyone, from families to oenology enthusiasts looking for local labels to discover glass after glass.
The dates and program for the 2026 edition of Wine Nights in Giuliano Teatino have not yet been announced. The event is part of the national program promoted by the Città del Vino Association, which for 2026 runs from June 21 to September 23, involving over 500 municipalities throughout Italy. In previous years, the Giuliano Teatino event took place in August, at Parco La Valletta, featuring tastings from local wineries, traditional dishes, and live music. It is recommended to check for updates on the Municipality of Giuliano Teatino's channels as soon as the program is made public.
