Music, Verdicchio, and sunset among the vineyards of San Paolo di Jesi
The Wine Concert at Cantina Vignamato is one of the most evocative stops on the Pergolesi Spontini Festival, the summer event organised by the Fondazione Pergolesi Spontini in Jesi and the villages of Vallesina. The event takes place in San Paolo di Jesi, a small municipality in the Province of Ancona, in the heart of the production area for Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi.
The idea behind the Wine Concerts is simple and brilliant: to bring great chamber music out of the concert halls and into the region's finest wineries. Here, the art of sound meets the culture of wine in an experiential format that has won over the festival's audience.
The evening follows a well-established path. It begins with a guided tour of the winery, to discover the company's history and the work behind each bottle. This is followed by a tasting of local wines, with Verdicchio as the star. Finally, as the light begins to fade over the hills, the sunset concert begins, in an intimate and secluded atmosphere among the vines.
Vignamato is a winery that has made viticulture a life choice rather than a mere profession, and this is evident in the welcome and the care taken in their offerings. The winery is located along the Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi wine route, a landscape of orderly hills that characterises the hinterland of Ancona.
The Wine Concert in San Paolo di Jesi is one of four stops in the series dedicated to wineries, included in the broader programme of the Pergolesi Spontini Festival. The festival spans various genres and styles—from Baroque to classical, from jazz to pop, including theatre and dance—and each year features numerous prominent national and international guests.
This event is designed for those who love music and want to experience it differently, away from concert halls and immersed in the flavours and landscapes of the Marche.
The 2026 edition of the Wine Concert at Cantina Vignamato in San Paolo di Jesi is scheduled for Friday, August 28, 2026, as part of the XXVI Pergolesi Spontini Festival, titled "Accordi disarmanti" (July 18 – September 21, 2026).
On the stage set up among the vines, the duo formed by Jacopo Muratori (cello) and Leonardo Giulianelli (piano) will perform. This is one of four stops dedicated to the region's wineries, alongside those of Sartarelli (Poggio San Marcello), Marotti Campi (Morro d'Alba), and Oppedentro (Maiolati Spontini).
As is tradition for this series, the evening combines a guided tour of the winery, a wine tasting, and a concert at sunset, offering an experience that blends music and gastronomy in the Vallesina.
The evening includes a guided tour of the winery and a tasting of local wines, followed by the sunset concert among the vineyards.
The detailed musical program for the concert will be announced by the Fondazione Pergolesi Spontini in the weeks leading up to the event. We recommend checking the festival's official channels and the ticket office for updated times and repertoire.
