Chamber music and Verdicchio among the rows of Poggio San Marcello
The Wine Concert is one of the most beloved events of the Pergolesi Spontini Festival, the historic review organized by the Pergolesi Spontini Foundation in the Vallesina area. The formula is simple and refined: great chamber music leaves the theatres and moves into the most beautiful wineries in the area, where the audience attends a concert immersed among the vineyard rows, after visiting the estate and tasting the wines.
The stop at the Sartarelli Winery, in the Municipality of Poggio San Marcello (province of Ancona), is traditionally the first in the Wine Concert series. This is not a random choice: Sartarelli is one of the leading wineries for Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi, the symbolic white wine of the Marche region, and its landscape of hills cultivated with vineyards offers a perfect setting for outdoor music.
The evening begins with a guided tour of the winery and a tasting of the estate's wines, followed by the concert itself. It is an experience designed for those who love to combine a passion for classical music with the pleasure of food and wine, in a secluded and convivial atmosphere, far from the formality of the concert hall.
The Wine Concert is part of the broader programme of the Pergolesi Spontini Festival, which every summer enlivens Jesi and the municipalities of the Vallesina with concerts, opera, theatre, and chamber music. The festival is dedicated to the two great composers from the Marche region, Giovanni Battista Pergolesi (born in Jesi) and Gaspare Spontini (originally from Maiolati), and represents one of the most important cultural events in the Marche. The Wine Concerts are its travelling soul, capable of enhancing both the musical and wine heritage of the region.
The XXVI edition of the Pergolesi Spontini Festival (July 18 – September 21, 2026), themed "Accordi disarmanti" (Disarming Chords) and revolving around the unifying power of music, inaugurates its Wine Concert series at the Sartarelli Winery in Poggio San Marcello.
The July 23rd event is the first of four winery concerts that, along the Verdicchio routes, combine chamber music and food and wine. As tradition dictates, the evening is preceded by a guided tour of the winery and a tasting of the estate's wines.
