Festival RESIDART

A chamber music festival in the heart of the Marche

The Festival RESIDART is a review entirely dedicated to chamber music that every year, in September, transforms the small village of Camerata Picena, in the province of Ancona, into a meeting point for young musicians from all over the world. The event stems from the experience of the Residart association, the first network of artist residences created in the Marche, founded in 2012 with the aim of welcoming emerging talents and offering them a high-level training course immersed in the life of a community.

The artist residency formula

The most original feature of RESIDART is precisely the residency model: the selected young musicians do not stay in hotels but are hosted in the homes of the village families, living in close contact with the inhabitants of Camerata Picena. This choice creates an authentic bond between the artists and the territory and makes the festival an experience shared by the entire community. Study, rehearsals, and concerts take place for ten days in the village and its surroundings, with the Castello del Cassero among the main venues of the event.

Training and great masters

RESIDART is also an opportunity for the highest level of professional growth. The festival offers masterclasses and specialization courses in chamber music, under the guidance of the artistic director, violist and educator M° Henk Guittart. The review is the result of a solid network of collaborations that unites Residart with the Fondazione Pergolesi Spontini of Jesi and the Orlando Foundation for Chamber Music in the Netherlands. Each year, a scholarship is awarded to an Italian ensemble (duo, trio, or quartet, preferably under 35): the winning group takes part in the specialization course and performs both in the RESIDART lineup and in that of the Pergolesi Spontini Festival.

Concerts among villages and historic sites

The program alternates evening concerts and daytime events hosted in churches, historic palaces, and evocative spots in Camerata Picena and the surrounding area. The public thus has the opportunity to listen to high-quality chamber repertoire in architecturally and scenically fascinating settings, while rediscovering the identity of this corner of the Marche. The review represents one of the most qualified events in the musical calendar of the Municipality of Camerata Picena and the entire province of Ancona.

A bridge between generations and cultures

Over the years, RESIDART has welcomed numerous emerging ensembles destined for important careers, building a bridge between young performers, established masters, and a community that makes music a source of pride. The festival thus confirms itself not only as a concert series but as a true cultural project that intertwines training, hospitality, and the enhancement of the Marche heritage.
