Shopping under the stars, street food, and DJ sets in Borgata Carrara
The White Night at the Sermoneta Shopping Center has become the official signal that summer in Sermoneta has begun. Every year, in early July, the shopping center in Borgata Carrara, located along Via Le Pastine, stays lit up until midnight, and its square fills with the aromas of street food, music, and strolling families. The event, supported by the municipal administration since its first edition, inaugurates the rich "Sermoneta Summer Events" calendar, which in 2026 featured around fifty appointments between July and September.
The heart of the evening is the commercial white night format: all the center's shops—clothing, footwear, perfumeries, bookstores, toy stores, and large retail outlets—remain open until midnight, coinciding with the start of the summer sales. It is the perfect opportunity to shop at a leisurely pace, away from the daytime heat, in a space uniquely and attractively set up for the occasion.
The square in front of the shopping center turns into an area dedicated to street food, with sweet and savory options to enjoy outdoors. The evening is accompanied by open-air DJ sets, roving shows, and performers who animate the spaces between the shops, creating a contemporary take on a village festival atmosphere.
The Sermoneta White Night is explicitly an event for everyone, with special attention paid to the little ones: face painting, baby dance, and a free baby parking service with dedicated entertainers allow parents to enjoy the evening while their children have fun in a safe environment. It is no coincidence that the organizers describe it as "a moment open to everyone, designed not only for families but for the entire community."
The Municipality of Sermoneta, in the province of Latina in the Lazio region, is famous for its medieval village dominated by the Caetani Castle, one of the best-preserved in the region. Borgata Carrara is its lowland soul, which grew along the routes toward Latina Scalo: the White Night brings the party right here, to the heart of daily life, complementing the cultural appointments of the upper village, such as the Pontine Music Festival, which has enlivened the Sermoneta summer for over sixty years.
The first White Night at the Sermoneta Shopping Center took place on July 7, 2022, intended to celebrate the return to normalcy after the pandemic years. The success was immediate: the third edition on July 4, 2024, and the fourth on July 10, 2025, consolidated the formula, and in 2026, the July 2nd appointment officially opened the municipal summer calendar. A young event, but one that has already become a tradition awaited by the entire Pontine community.
The 2026 edition of the White Night took place on Thursday, July 2, at the Sermoneta Shopping Center in Borgata Carrara and launched the summer calendar of the Municipality of Sermoneta: about fifty events between July, August, and September, from the Pontine Music Festival to the major concerts of the Prisma Summer Festival in the Monticchio market area. Now in its fifth edition after its 2022 debut, the evening reprised the proven formula: shops open until midnight in conjunction with the start of the summer sales, a sweet and savory street food area in the square, open-air DJ sets, shows, and entertainment dedicated to children with free baby parking. Details on exhibitors and guests were communicated through the shopping center's social media channels.
The evening of July 2, 2026, began in the early evening and followed the event's established format: shops open until midnight with the summer sales just underway, a sweet and savory street food area set up in the square in front, open-air DJ sets, roving shows and performers, and entertainment for children with face painting, baby dance, and free baby parking. The detailed program with exhibitors and guests was shared on the Facebook and Instagram pages of the Sermoneta Shopping Center.
The Sermoneta Shopping Center is located on Via Le Pastine, in Borgata Carrara (Sermoneta, LT), on the plain between the village of Sermoneta and Latina Scalo. By car: from the SS7 Appia or the SR148 Pontina, follow the signs for Latina Scalo/Sermoneta. By train: the Latina Scalo station (Rome-Naples line via Formia) is just a few minutes away; from there, continue by taxi or local bus.
Admission is free. The center has ample free parking and free Wi-Fi. During the White Night, shops remain open until midnight; there is a street food area in the square and free baby parking with entertainers.
It is an open-air evening in early July: wear light clothing and arrive early to find convenient parking. Updates on exhibitors and guests are available on the shopping center's Facebook and Instagram channels.
