Summer in San Felice Circeo: concerts, food festivals, theatre, and excursions at the foot of the promontory
Circeo d'Amare is the summer program promoted by the Municipality of San Felice Circeo, in the province of Latina, in collaboration with the Pro Loco and local associations to enliven the most vibrant season of the year. From early July to mid-September, the village overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea, located within the Circeo National Park, hosts dozens of widespread events: live concerts and shows, theatre and performances, film screenings, cultural meetings, guided tours, excursions, sporting events, food festivals, and patronal feasts. All events are free of charge, a choice that makes the festival a reference point for both residents and tourists on the Pontine coast.
The event is widespread by nature: shows and initiatives take place along the streets of the medieval historic center, the port area, the evocative Vigna La Corte space, and the villages within the municipal territory, such as Borgo Montenero. The promontory's most iconic settings are also featured: the archaeological sites of Quattro Venti and the Roman baths of Torre Paola, the Grotta Guattari, and the Torre dei Templari, which host guided tours and archaeological walks at sunset.
The heart of the festival is the evening programming. In the 2026 edition, the Echi di Circe project, supported by the Lazio Region, brought the concert "L'arte dell'incontro" to Vigna La Corte, featuring Luca Barbarossa and Danilo Rea—a highly acclaimed dialogue between voice and piano. The program alternates auteur evenings, cinema under the stars with special guests from the big screen, piano bars, DJ sets, and theatrical performances, continuing the successful formula that has previously attracted names like Paolo Genovese, Ferzan Ozpetek, and Ornella Muti to Circeo.
Circeo d'Amare is also a showcase for local gastronomic traditions. In August, Borgo Montenero hosts the Agro Pontino Zucchini Festival, dedicated to the vegetable that symbolizes the countryside between Sabaudia, Terracina, and San Felice Circeo, recently awarded the European trademark. In early September, the port celebrates the Blue Fish Festival, now in its fifteenth year, featuring tastings, flag-wavers, and craft markets. The program is rounded out by street food events, local flavors, and the patronal celebrations in honor of Saint Felix the Martyr, including the traditional procession on July 29th through the village streets.
For southern Lazio, Circeo d'Amare is the event that transforms San Felice Circeo into an open-air stage: a way to experience the Pontine sea beyond the beach, through culture, music, and tradition.
Promoted by the municipal administration with the Pro Loco of San Felice and local associations, the 2026 edition of Circeo d'Amare offers over two months of free events. The festival ranges from auteur concerts to theatrical shows, from cinema under the stars to archaeological walks between the Quattro Venti and the Roman baths of Torre Paola, up to the great traditional festivals: the patronal feast of Saint Felix the Martyr on July 29, the Zucchini Festival in Borgo Montenero on August 20-21, and the Blue Fish Festival in early September. The Echi di Circe project, supported by the Lazio Region, features the main musical appointments at Vigna La Corte.
San Felice Circeo can be reached by car via the SS148 Pontina (exit for Terracina/San Felice Circeo, about 100 km from Rome). By train: Priverno-Fossanova or Terracina station on the Rome-Naples line via Formia, then take the COTRAL bus to San Felice Circeo. Events take place between the historic center, the port, Vigna La Corte, and Borgo Montenero.
All festival events are free of charge.
In high season, parking in the historic center is limited: it is advisable to arrive early or use the parking areas along the coast road. For excursions and guided tours of the archaeological sites, booking with the Pro Loco is recommended.
