Winter Begins with a Show

In Courmayeur, in the Aosta Valley, the start of the winter season is celebrated with Welcome Winter, the event that lights up Christmas and welcomes skiers and visitors at the foot of Mont Blanc. An evening of music, lights, and entertainment that draws a large crowd to the heart of the town.

Lighting the Tree in Piazza Abbé Henry

The highlight is the lighting of the large Christmas tree in Piazza Abbé Henry, illuminated by tens of thousands of LED lights with colorful effects. The lighting, preceded by an energetic countdown, is accompanied by a light show projected onto the historic center and the surrounding mountains, creating a breathtaking spectacle.

The Guest Artist's Concert

The musical heart of the evening is the live concert by a guest artist at the Jardin de l'Ange, preceded by DJ sets and entertainment. Recent editions have brought major Italian music stars to Courmayeur: Clara in 2025 and Annalisa in 2024.

The Festival That Opens the Season

With live television coverage and a festive atmosphere, Welcome Winter officially kicks off Courmayeur's winter in the province of Aosta, paving the way for a calendar full of Christmas events, including concerts, markets, and Aosta Valley traditions.
