Benvenuto Vermentino is the event that annually celebrates the symbolic wine of Eastern Liguria: Vermentino DOC Colli di Luni. It takes place in Castelnuovo Magra, a hillside village in the Val di Magra in the province of La Spezia, a borderland between Liguria and Tuscany where the Colli di Luni appellation finds its production heart. In 2026, the review reaches its XV edition.
Over a hundred labels for tasting
For a weekend, the alleys and squares of the historic center fill with tasting stands: over a hundred labels of Vermentino allow for a comparison of interpretations and vintages of a fresh and mineral white wine, a perfect companion to Ligurian seafood cuisine. The event is organized by the Municipality of Castelnuovo Magra with the involvement of the Regional Enoteca of Liguria.
The new generations of winemakers
The 2026 edition focuses on the new generations of winemakers, protagonists of generational change and innovation in the Colli di Luni cellars. Already in March, the 'Castelnuovo DOC' preview dedicated to the territory's excellences launches the main event in June. Benvenuto Vermentino is the ideal opportunity to discover one of the most charming villages in the province of La Spezia and a wine-growing terroir with an ancient tradition.
Welcome Vermentino — edition 2026
The XV edition of Benvenuto Vermentino takes place on the weekend of June 20-21, 2026. Anticipated on March 6 by the event 'Castelnuovo DOC – The wine excellences of the territory' at the Social Center, the main review brings over a hundred labels of Vermentino DOC Colli di Luni to the village squares, with a focus on young local producers.

- 4:00 PM — Guided tasting 'Castelnuovo DOC' with new generation producers, led by Marco Rezzano (president of the Regional Enoteca of Liguria) and winemaker Francesco Petacco

How to get there
Castelnuovo Magra is located in Val di Magra, a few kilometers from Sarzana. By car, it can be reached from the Sarzana A12 exit. The nearest train station is Sarzana, from which you can continue by bus or taxi.
Tastings
Access to the tasting stands is usually by purchasing a glass and tasting tickets. Updated information on dates and methods can be found on the website of the Municipality of Castelnuovo Magra.
