International jazz and fine wines from south-east Sicily in Piazza del Popolo
The Vittoria Jazz Festival – Music & Wine is one of the most anticipated jazz events in Sicily, held every June in the town of Vittoria, in the province of Ragusa, within the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Val di Noto area. The event is directed by maestro Francesco Cafiso, a world-renowned saxophonist from Vittoria and an ambassador of Italian jazz, who closes the festival every year with a performance in his hometown.
The festival's formula is a sophisticated blend of great music and fine wines: evening concerts are complemented by masterclasses dedicated to the oenological excellence of south-east Sicily, from Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG—the island's only DOCG—to Frappato and Grillo.
Concerts take place in the scenic Piazza del Popolo, Vittoria's baroque living room, overlooking the Municipal Theater and the Church of San Giovanni Battista. Over the years, the festival has brought top-tier Italian and international jazz musicians to the Vittoria stage, from Enrico Rava to Stefano Bollani, and from Paolo Fresu to overseas performers, establishing itself as a benchmark for genre enthusiasts across Sicily.
The connection to wine is the hallmark of the event. Vittoria is the capital of Cerasuolo di Vittoria, the iconic wine of Sicilian oenology, and the festival celebrates this heritage with guided tastings and meetings with sommeliers and experts. The event is promoted by the Enoteca Regionale della Sicilia Sud-Est in collaboration with the Municipality of Vittoria, with the support of the Sicilian Region.
All Vittoria Jazz Festival concerts offer free admission, a choice that makes the event accessible to residents and tourists alike and helps fill Piazza del Popolo every evening. Between performances, the historic center comes alive with strolls, marching bands, and tasting opportunities, in an experience that weaves together music, food and wine, and baroque architecture.
Located in the south-eastern part of Sicily, Vittoria is the second-largest city in the province of Ragusa and one of the capitals of the Iblean baroque. The festival is an ideal opportunity to discover the city and the entire Val di Noto district, including wineries, traditional masserie, and historic villages, during one of the most pleasant times of the year.
The 2026 edition of the Vittoria Jazz Festival – Music & Wine, the fifteenth, takes place from June 26 to 28 in Piazza del Popolo in Vittoria, under the artistic direction of maestro Francesco Cafiso and featuring a lineup of internationally acclaimed artists.
This edition coincides with the inauguration of the Enoteca Regionale della Sicilia Sud-Est on Via dei Mille, a new center dedicated to promoting the region's wines.
All concerts are free to attend.
