The Village Festival on the Snow is one of the most cherished winter events in Santa Caterina Valfurva, in the municipality of Valfurva (province of Sondrio). It traditionally takes place in March, as the winter season draws to a close, and brings the community together for a day of sport, faith, and conviviality on the Tresero slope.

Races for everyone and snowshoeing

The program includes an alpine skiing, snowboarding, and cross-country skiing race open to all, alongside a snowshoe hike organized by the CAI Valfurva for those who prefer walking on snow. It's an inclusive format that allows adults and children, expert skiers and simple enthusiasts, to participate in the festival together.

Mass, social lunch, and solidarity

Midday, the community gathers for mass, followed by a social lunch and awards ceremony in the Sala Tresero. The Village Festival on the Snow also has a strong solidarity dimension: proceeds support the summer activities of Valfurva's youth, in memory of the valley's young people. An event that intertwines sport, tradition, and generosity.
