Traditional polenta in the village of Viepri di Massa Martana
The Polenta Festival takes place in Viepri, a hamlet of Massa Martana in the province of Perugia, and in 2026 it will reach its 26th edition. Organized by the Pro Loco of Viepri, the event celebrates a simple and iconic dish of Umbrian peasant cuisine: polenta, served with the richest local sauces.
In the gastronomic stands, polenta is served with wild boar or sausage, accompanied by delicious local specialties and products. It is a cuisine that is humble in origin but rich in flavor, telling the story of the peasant families of the Martani Mountains, a history that the festival helps to pass down from generation to generation.
In addition to food, the festival offers musical evenings with orchestras and two original events: the Polenta Rally, a motor rally with a stop in Acquasparta, and the Polenta Ride, a horse excursion through the hills. A combination that makes this Viepri festival an event capable of uniting taste, tradition, and outdoor activities.
The 2026 edition, the twenty-sixth, was held from March 13 to 22 in the village of Viepri. The gastronomic stands offered polenta with wild boar and sausage, with musical evenings animated by orchestras. Two more original side events were featured: the two-wheeled Polenta Rally and the Polenta Ride on horseback.
Viepri is a hamlet of Massa Martana (PG), reachable from the SR 316 dei Monti Martani. Massa Martana is connected to the E45 highway.
