A country festival at the foot of the Ernici Mountains

The Vico Country Festival is one of the most anticipated summer events in Vico nel Lazio, a medieval walled village in the province of Frosinone, in the heart of Ciociaria. The festival takes place at the Locanda dei Monti Ernici in the Casalonga area: a farmhouse surrounded by greenery, offering traditional Ciociarian cuisine and a large camper parking area. For the occasion, it transforms into a small Italian-style ranch, complete with a dance floor, the scent of the grill, and horses roaming free.

The origins: the festival of the Ciociarian riders

The event began as the Vico Country Horse Festival, an initiative by the Associazione Cavalieri Ciociari, who wanted to create a weekend entirely dedicated to horses, nature, and conviviality. In multi-day editions, the program included sunrise horseback excursions through the most picturesque spots of the Ernici Mountains—the oasis, the Grotta della Mano, the Cava dell'Oro, and Vado de Porca—with mountain lunches, live music evenings, fireworks, and country dancing. In 2021, the event celebrated its thirteenth edition, cementing its status as a staple of the Ciociarian summer.

The format: music, dancing, and Mexican-style beans

Every edition blends the classic ingredients of a country festival: a dance floor, live concerts, local gastronomy, horseback riding, bouncy castles for children, and the unmissable mechanical bull. The highlight of the evening is the serving of Mexican-style beans, offered by the association in keeping with the most authentic Western tradition. It is a simple, genuine atmosphere that draws families, equestrian enthusiasts, and music lovers from across the province.

The 2026 edition: «NEI 90 IO C'ERO»

For the 18th edition, on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 9:30 PM, the festival hosted an official stop of the 2026 «NEI 90 IO C'ERO» tour, a musical format that is selling out in squares across Italy. The show is designed as a generational journey through nostalgia and adrenaline, set to the dance and pop tracks that defined the history of the nineties: an evening of pure energy aimed at both nostalgic fans and younger generations.
