About Verso una Nuova Alba

Verso una Nuova Alba is an annual contemporary art exhibition that brings the historic halls of Palazzo Ruspoli to life in the heart of Cerveteri, near Rome. Curated by Andrea Cerqua and organized by Tracciati d'Arte, this collective show brings together dozens of artists through a journey of painting, photography, sculpture, drawing, and digital works, complemented by literary meetings, musical performances, and live acts. It is an event dedicated to restoring art's deepest value: creating human connections, bridging distances, and spreading hope.

An art exhibition in the heart of Cerveteri

Verso una Nuova Alba is a contemporary art exhibition held in Cerveteri, within the Metropolitan City of Rome, inside the historic halls of Palazzo Ruspoli, overlooking Piazza Santa Maria in the town center. Organized by the Tracciati d'Arte association and curated by artist Andrea Cerqua, the event was established in 2024 and has quickly become a highly anticipated date in the cultural calendar of the Lazio coast.

A journey through the arts

The exhibition is designed as a visual, sonic, and narrative journey that guides the visitor through diverse artistic languages. The works on display range from painting to photography, sculpture to drawing, and include digital art and short films, creating a continuous dialogue between traditional techniques and contemporary experimentation. Each edition brings together dozens of artists, many of whom are local, offering a vibrant and pluralistic snapshot of current creativity.

Art as an encounter

The common thread of the exhibition is the idea of art as a tool for rebirth and human connection. The title itself, "Verso una Nuova Alba" (Towards a New Dawn), evokes the image of a fresh start and shared hope. Alongside the artworks, the program features meetings with writers, book presentations, concerts, piano recitals, performances, and social toasts, transforming the visit into a well-rounded cultural experience.

An inclusive perspective

One of the most significant features of the event is its inclusive vocation. The exhibition provides space for the AHRTE Integrated Artistic Group and involves young students from local art courses, placing them alongside established artists. This choice makes Verso una Nuova Alba not just an exhibition showcase, but a community project that values talent and participation from everyone.

Palazzo Ruspoli, an exceptional setting

The halls of Palazzo Ruspoli, a historic residence overlooking Piazza Santa Maria, provide a charming backdrop for the works on display. Its location in the center of Cerveteri—an Etruscan city famous for its UNESCO-recognized Banditaccia Necropolis—adds an extra layer of fascination to the exhibition, blending ancient heritage with the creativity of the present. The exhibition is held under the patronage of the Municipality of Cerveteri.

Verso una Nuova Alba — edition 2026

The third edition of Verso una Nuova Alba was held from May 20 to 24, 2026, in the halls of Palazzo Ruspoli in Cerveteri. Curated by Andrea Cerqua for Tracciati d'Arte, the exhibition brought together about twenty artists with works of painting, photography, sculpture, drawing, and digital art, joined by the AHRTE Integrated Artistic Group and students from local art schools.

The third edition of Verso una Nuova Alba brought Palazzo Ruspoli to life from May 20 to 24, 2026, confirming the exhibition as one of the most followed contemporary art events in Cerveteri. Under the curatorship of Andrea Cerqua, the show proposed a journey through painting, photography, sculpture, drawing, and digital works, exploring different sensibilities, visions, and stories.

Alongside the artworks, the program hosted literary and musical moments that enriched the opening days.
