About Vela Day
The sea open to everyone
Vela Day is the national event promoted by the Italian Sailing Federation to introduce adults and young people to sea sports free of charge. In Termoli (Province of Campobasso), the event is held at the "Mario Cariello" Termoli Sailing Club, in Via di Rio Vivo, which for one day opens its doors to citizens, families, and the curious.
Many disciplines to try
In addition to sailboats and windsurfing, the day also offers canoeing, stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), and kiteboarding, with activities designed to engage all ages. The taster sessions are conducted safely, under the guidance of qualified federal instructors, so that anyone can experience being on the water for the first time.

During Vela Day, you can learn about all the activities promoted by the club, get information on summer courses, and take advantage of special offers for FIV membership. It's an opportunity to discover a world – that of sailing – which has deep roots in Termoli, a city that has always lived by its relationship with the Adriatic Sea.
Vela Day — edition 2026
Vela Day 2026 takes place on Sunday, May 31, starting at 10:00 AM, at the "Mario Cariello" Termoli Sailing Club on Via di Rio Vivo. The club opens its doors to citizens, families, and the curious to try sailing, stand-up paddleboarding, and kiteboarding for free, under the guidance of qualified federal instructors. During the day, it's possible to sign up for summer courses and learn about FIV membership promotions. The initiative is part of the Italian Sailing Federation's national event, scheduled from May 29 to June 2, with the participation of affiliated clubs.
