Parade floats, masks, and live music in the Forlì district
The Vecchiazzano Carnival, renamed Carneval Park in recent years, is one of the most beloved popular festivals in the Municipality of Forlì, in the heart of Romagna and the Province of Forlì-Cesena, in Emilia-Romagna. It is one of the three neighborhood Carnivals in Forlì that liven up the city between January and March each winter, along with those of Ronco and San Martino in Strada.
The festival has ancient roots: editions of the Vecchiazzano Carnival have been documented since the nineties. After a long period of suspension, the event was reborn thanks to the will of a group of young people and volunteers from the neighborhood, who rolled up their sleeves to bring floats and masks back to the village streets. Today, the organization is handled by the C.E.V. Carnevale Eventi Vecchiazzano APS Association together with the Vecchiazzano-Massa-Ladino Neighborhood Committee, under the patronage of the Municipality of Forlì.
The heart of the day is the parade of allegorical floats, built by hand by neighborhood groups, which travel along the main streets amidst live music, costumed groups, and clouds of confetti. The festival is designed primarily for children and families:
Over the years, the event has been enriched with new features such as artistic lighting of the floats, a craft market, and shows with artists and entertainers for children.
More than just a parade, Carneval Park has become a moment of shared celebration that attracts families from all over Forlì and the surrounding areas. Admission is completely free, and the cheerful and colorful atmosphere makes it perfect for spending a Sunday afternoon filled with fun.
The Carneval Park of Vecchiazzano 2026 was held on Sunday, March 1st (with a reserve date of March 22nd in case of bad weather), confirming itself as one of Forlì's most anticipated neighborhood Carnivals.
The assembly point was set for 3:00 PM at the Peroni school parking lot. Along the route, large parade floats and spectacular masks paraded, accompanied by live music. For the little ones, a magic show and the Pompieropoli course were set up, with games and adventures as real firefighters, while food stalls offered traditional Romagna specialties.
In case of bad weather, the event was postponed to Sunday, March 22nd. Free admission.
