The e-bike cycling tour along the Via delle Malghe, amidst the pastures of the Lagorai range
The Vanoi E-Bike Gathering is a non-competitive cycling excursion held in the Vanoi Valley, in the municipality of Canal San Bovo, in the province of Trento (Trentino-Alto Adige). Organized by the Unione Sportiva Vanoi ASD, the event invites athletes, enthusiasts, and families to discover one of the most authentic and untouched corners of Trentino on pedal-assisted bicycles—a fully eco-friendly way to tackle mountain gradients without sacrificing the pleasure of the scenery.
The route follows the so-called Via delle Malghe, an itinerary that crosses the high-altitude pastures of the valley, framed by the imposing Lagorai chain and offering views of the Pale di San Martino. The trail, primarily on forest roads and dirt tracks, passes some of the area's iconic mountain dairies and offers glimpses of the woods and meadows that make the Vanoi valley a favorite destination for mountain bikers and cycle-touring enthusiasts in Trentino.
The gathering offers two itineraries designed for different fitness levels:
Both tracks wind through mountain dairies, forests, and viewpoints, with a morning start and a return scheduled in time for the community lunch.
Along the circuit, several refreshment points are set up with local products, offering moments of relaxation immersed in nature. Upon arrival, under the Alpini festival tent in Caoria, a hamlet of Canal San Bovo, participants share a traditional alpine lunch, concluding a day dedicated to sport and local discovery in a friendly atmosphere.
Created to promote soft mobility and sustainable tourism, the Vanoi E-Bike Gathering has become a staple of the Vanoi Valley summer. Beyond the sporting aspect, the event is an opportunity to showcase the traditions, gastronomy, and landscapes of this secluded corner of Trentino, nestled between the Dolomites and the Lagorai range.
The 6th edition of the Vanoi E-Bike Gathering is scheduled for Sunday, July 26, 2026. The start is set in the Lausen area of Canal San Bovo (long route at 9:00 AM, short route at 9:10 AM), while the finish is in Caoria, at the Alpini festival tent.
Two itineraries are offered along the Via delle Malghe: a short route of approximately 24.1 km with 1,080 meters of elevation gain and a long route of approximately 33.1 km with 1,540 meters of elevation gain, primarily on dirt roads immersed in greenery and Dolomite landscapes. Refreshment points with local products are set up along the circuit; an alpine lunch and an event pack are provided for all participants upon arrival.
The registration fee is 40 euros online (by July 24) and 45 euros on the day of the event, with a 70-euro package option including e-bike rental.
