Wine, traditions, and culture in the capital of sparkling wine
Santa Maria della Versa, in the province of Pavia, has always been considered the "capital of sparkling wine" of Oltrepò Pavese, a land of hills and vineyards where Pinot Noir reigns supreme. The ValVersa da Vivere event was created to showcase and enhance this wine identity, transforming the village into a grand stage for wine, flavors, and culture for an entire spring weekend.
The heart of the event is Pinot Noir Classic Method, a symbol of the Valle Versa's wine production. Among the most anticipated moments are the masterclasses dedicated to this wine, curated by the Pinot Nero Land association, and the grand tasting "ValVersa da Bere" featuring over forty local labels. It's the ideal occasion for enthusiasts and the curious to discover the sparkling excellence of Oltrepò, glass in hand.
ValVersa da Vivere is also a village festival and a cultural celebration. The program combines shows for families, initiatives for young people, dialect performances, live music, and DJ sets, alongside typical local cuisine and regional crafts. As part of the "Esperienze d'Oltrepò tra calici e gusto" (Oltrepò Experiences between glasses and taste) project, the event aims to strengthen the tourist appeal of the Pavia hills by uniting food and wine, landscape, and identity.
For those who want to explore one of Lombardy's most fascinating wine regions, ValVersa da Vivere is the perfect gateway. Amidst the hills of Santa Maria della Versa, in the province of Pavia, you'll discover an authentic Oltrepò, where wine is culture, landscape, and hospitality.
