Santa's village on the slopes of Mount Vesuvius, in Torre del Greco
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
Valle del Natale is the Christmas village that comes to life every year, between late November and late December, inside the Valle dell'Orso park in Torre del Greco, in the province of Naples (Metropolitan City of Naples, Campania). This is not your typical town square market: here, the entire complex, nestled in the greenery on the slopes of Mount Vesuvius, is transformed into a Great North village, complete with scenery, lights, the scent of pine, and Christmas music that accompanies visitors along the entire route.
The eighth edition, held in 2025, was dedicated to Korvatunturi, the ear-shaped snowy mountain that, according to Finnish tradition, is home to Joulupukki, the real Santa Claus. It is this fidelity to Northern European atmospheres, rather than the pursuit of novelty at any cost, that distinguishes this project in the landscape of Christmas events in Campania.
The visit is organized as a continuous path: you enter through the Grand Curtain, pass through themed environments, and gradually reach the heart of the village. Highlights from recent editions include:
The Market Square gathers wooden huts dedicated to crafts and Christmas treats: gift ideas, decorations, local products, and specialties to enjoy on-site. There is also a refreshment area with street food and hot dishes, which is very popular on colder days. Recent editions have also featured creative workshops and live performances throughout the day, with roving entertainment along the path.
Valle del Natale has received the Parksmania Awards recognition as the best family project implemented in European parks: a result that has consolidated the facility's reputation well beyond the borders of Campania, attracting visitors to Torre del Greco from the entire Neapolitan area and neighboring regions.
The experience is designed primarily for families with children, but the attention to detail and the immersive nature of the event make it interesting for adults and couples as well. The visit takes place largely outdoors: appropriate seasonal clothing and comfortable footwear are recommended, as the route requires several hours of leisurely walking.
The event is traditionally scheduled between late November and the Christmas period, with openings concentrated on weekends and holidays. In 2025, the village welcomed the public from November 29 to December 26. The organization has announced its return for the ninth edition in 2026: exact dates and the program have not yet been made public and should be verified on the official Valle dell'Orso channels.
Following the eighth edition dedicated to Korvatunturi, the Valle dell'Orso park has confirmed the return of Valle del Natale for its ninth edition in 2026. The precise calendar, the theme of the year, and booking procedures have not yet been communicated.
While awaiting the official announcement, it is reasonable to expect the established formula: an immersive journey in the municipality of Torre del Greco (Metropolitan City of Naples, Campania) featuring Santa's house, the elf post office, the snowy labyrinth, light trails, the artisanal market square, and amphitheater shows. Dates and tickets will be published on the official website valleorso.it and on the event's social media channels: it is advisable to monitor them starting in the autumn, as in recent editions, the most popular weekends have sold out well in advance.
