The Vahrner Musigfescht: The Vahrn Band Festival

The Vahrner Musigfescht is the annual event that the Musikkapelle Vahrn, the local brass band of Vahrn, dedicates to its community. It takes place in the municipality of Vahrn, in the province of Bolzano, in the heart of South Tyrol (Südtirol), at the foot of the Bressanone basin.

The event transforms the town's pavilion and square into a vibrant open-air gathering spot. The stage features a mix of traditional Tyrolean marches, polkas, and waltzes, alongside symphonic wind music and contemporary pieces, while stalls serve authentic South Tyrolean specialties and local beers. It is a village festival in the truest sense, designed for families, music lovers, and fans of brass bands.

A band of over 60 musicians

The Musikkapelle Vahrn is a highly active association bringing together over 60 musicians, dedicated to enriching the village's cultural life through concerts, processions, and both religious and civil events. Their repertoire ranges from traditional marches and polkas to symphonic band music and modern compositions. The band enlivens various events throughout the year—from spring concerts to summer performances in neighboring towns—and the Musigfescht represents the moment they open their doors to their own community.

Vahrn, gateway to the Isarco Valley

Vahrn is located just north of Bressanone in the Isarco Valley and is famous for the nearby Novacella (Neustift) Abbey, renowned for its Augustinian monastery and vineyards. The village provides an ideal setting for a community festival, blending musical tradition, South Tyrolean gastronomy, and alpine landscapes.
