About Pfolzna Oktoberfest

The Pfolzna Oktoberfest is the premier beer festival in Falzes/Pfalzen, located in the Puster Valley (Autonomous Province of Bolzano, South Tyrol). Established in 2015 by the "Frühaufsteher," a group of eleven local friends, the event takes place every October under the large marquee at the Pavillon in Kirchplatz. Featuring a parade of floats, the traditional keg tapping, Bavarian and South Tyrolean brass bands, Schuhplattler dance groups, and lively evening parties, it is considered one of the most genuine and heartfelt Oktoberfest celebrations in all of South Tyrol.

An authentic Oktoberfest in the heart of the Puster Valley

The Pfolzna Oktoberfest is the most anticipated beer festival in Falzes/Pfalzen, a small village nestled on a sunny terrace in the Puster Valley, in the Autonomous Province of Bolzano (South Tyrol). Every year in October, the village transforms into a true miniature Wiesn, with a large marquee set up next to the Pavillon in Kirchplatz, in the historic center.

The story of the Frühaufsteher

The event was born in 2015 from an idea by a group of eleven local friends who called themselves "Die Frühaufsteher" (the early risers). From a simple gathering of neighbors, the Pfolzna Oktoberfest has grown in just a few years to become one of the most popular and authentic highlights of the South Tyrolean autumn, attracting visitors from across the valley and beyond. The organization remains entirely in the hands of local volunteers, and this community spirit is what makes the event so special.

The parade and the keg tapping

The highlight is the grand Saturday procession, the famous Aufmarsch, which winds through the center of Falzes: floats, brass bands in traditional costume, Schuhplattler groups, and vintage tractors parade in a riot of color and music. Upon arrival at the marquee, the official keg tapping (the Bieranstich) takes place, signaling the start of the festivities. Beer flows alongside Tyrolean culinary specialties in a warm and convivial atmosphere.

Music, tradition, and dance parties

The program alternates between traditional Bavarian and South Tyrolean music and more modern vibes: from performances by local bands and guest Blasmusik ensembles to evenings animated by dance orchestras and DJs that keep the marquee jumping until late at night. The performances by the Schuhplattler folk dance groups are one of the most characteristic and beloved features of the festival, as they are true guardians of South Tyrolean popular traditions.

A defining event for Falzes

More than just a beer festival, the Pfolzna Oktoberfest is a defining event for the municipality of Falzes and the entire Puster Valley: it combines Tyrolean hospitality, a passion for folk music, and a love for good food in a charming alpine setting. For those visiting South Tyrol in autumn, it is the perfect opportunity to experience the authenticity of South Tyrolean culture firsthand.

Pfolzna Oktoberfest — edition 2026

The Pfolzna Oktoberfest will return to Falzes/Pfalzen in autumn 2026, as is tradition in October. At this time, the official dates and program for the 2026 edition have not yet been announced by the organizers, the "Frühaufsteher". The final calendar, including times, brass bands, and parade details, will be communicated via the event's official channels in the months leading up to the festival.

The 2026 edition of the Pfolzna Oktoberfest in Falzes/Pfalzen, Puster Valley (South Tyrol), is expected as usual in the month of October. Precise dates and the program have not yet been published by the organizers: we recommend checking the official website and social media profiles for updates. As in previous years, a grand parade with floats and brass bands, the keg tapping, and dance parties under the marquee are expected.
