The festival is conceived and promoted by the CentroScienza Association as part of the Science Weeks, under the scientific direction of climatologist Elisa Palazzi.
The meaning of the name
The title "Un Grado e Mezzo" (One and a Half Degrees) refers to the goal of the 2015 Paris Agreement: to limit the increase in global average temperature to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels, the threshold beyond which the effects of global warming become more severe and difficult to reverse. This number inspired a festival that places climate science at the heart of public discourse, in a rigorous yet accessible way.
The fourth edition: the mountain as a mirror of the future
The 2026 edition is themed "If the mountains are healthy, we are healthy too": the highlands are portrayed as sentinels of climate change, where glaciers, snow, forests, and soil are the first to show the effects of global warming.
