About Umbria Jazz Weekend

Umbria Jazz Weekend brings the magic of Italy's most famous jazz festival to Terni. For four days, the historic centre and the Roman Amphitheatre are filled with music, with dozens of free concerts in the city's squares and streets, and some major evening events. Resident bands, international jazz, swing, funk, and soul animate a "distributed" and popular version of Umbria Jazz, designed to experience the city to the rhythm of music.

Umbria Jazz arrives in Terni

Umbria Jazz Weekend a Terni is the Terni version of Umbria Jazz, one of the most important jazz festivals in Europe. Organized by the Fondazione di Partecipazione Umbria Jazz, the event brings the successful "weekend" formula to Terni, in Umbria: music spread throughout the squares and streets of the centre, with a dense and high-level programme.

A widespread and free celebration

The festival transforms the historic centre into a large open-air stage: most of the concerts take place for free in the squares and streets of the city, with excursions to symbolic places like the Cascata delle Marmore. The heart of the evening events is the Roman Amphitheatre, which hosts the most popular shows. The featured bands are "resident", present for the entire duration of the festival, ensuring non-stop live music.

Between swing, funk, and great jazz

The programme alternates international jazz, swing, funk, and soul, with orchestras, quartets, and dance ensembles. Alongside the concerts, the festival offers collateral events, presentations, and previews that blend music, storytelling, and territory.

Terni in the Umbria Jazz system

The Terni event is a stable part of the Umbria Jazz "system", which links Terni, Perugia, and Orvieto into a single major regional musical itinerary. For the Province of Terni, it is an opportunity to welcome a large and international audience, experiencing the city in a festive and accessible atmosphere.
