International music, art, and culture in the village of Narni, directed by Cristiana Pegoraro
The Narnia Festival is one of the most prestigious musical and artistic events in Umbria: every summer it transforms Narni, in the province of Terni, into a crossroads of languages and artists from all over the world. Conceived and directed by pianist and composer Cristiana Pegoraro, with musical direction by maestro Lorenzo Porzio, the festival combines tradition and innovation in a balance between music, dance, and theatre, exhibitions, conferences, cultural activities, and excursions.
The program includes classical and symphonic music, opera, jazz, Latin music, contemporary dance, flamenco, Argentine tango, theatre, and cinema, with art exhibitions, masterclasses, guided tours, and food and wine tastings in the historic centre. The events are held in the most prestigious venues and archaeological sites of Narni and Umbria: the Teatro Manini, the Auditorium San Domenico, the Church of San Francesco, Piazza dei Priori, the Church of Santa Maria Impensole. Admission to all shows is free (with mandatory booking for many events).
The educational heart of the festival is the International Summer Training Program, which each year attracts over 300 students from around the world for lessons, workshops, and masterclasses held by teachers from the most important international schools and universities. It is complemented by the dance program Narnia Dance and the opera workshop. The festival, which has received Medals from the President of the Republic on several occasions, also has a spring version (Narnia Festival Spring) spread across Terni, Narni, and Amelia.
The 2026 edition marks the fifteenth season of the Narnia Festival and the International Summer Training Program, scheduled from July 13 to 26 in Narni. The formula that made the event directed by Cristiana Pegoraro famous is confirmed: classical and symphonic music, opera, jazz, dance, flamenco, tango, theatre, and exhibitions, with international masterclasses and guided tours, all with free admission. The detailed concert program will be published by the organizers starting in June.
