Empoli discovers urban street food

From May 7th to 10th, 2026, the outdoor portico of the Empoli Shopping Center on Via Raffaello Sanzio hosts the first Empoli edition of the UFF - Urban Food Festival, a traveling format already tried and tested in Florence. This four-day event, with free admission and continuous hours from 9:00 AM to 10:30 PM, transforms a commercial space into a vibrant hub filled with aromas, flavors, music, and a passion for pop culture. The event is organized by the cultural association Fumetti e Dintorni APS with the patronage of the Municipality of Empoli, in the province of Florence, in the heart of Tuscany.

International street food

The core of the festival is street food from around the world. The gastronomic trail features specialties from Albania, Romania, Colombia, and Emilia-Romagna, alongside Sicilian sweets, arancini, Neapolitan traditions, and craft beer. It is a journey through diverse cultures designed for those who love to taste, compare, and discover dishes rarely found in one place.

Vintage markets and pop culture

Alongside the food stalls, the Urban Food Festival offers two distinct market areas. The first is dedicated to vintage, featuring tailored clothing, designer bags, original jeans, jackets, and curated second-hand accessories. The second celebrates pop culture: comics, manga, Pokémon cards, vinyl records, action figures, and collectibles for enthusiasts of all ages.

Music, shows, and motor rallies

• Live music and dance school performances throughout the days;
• Entertainment for children with puppet theater and face painting during the weekend;
• Saturday, May 9th: Vespa Club rally featuring clubs from Empoli, Florence, Ponte a Cappiano, and Montemurlo, plus a contest for the best vintage outfit;
• Saturday at noon: arrival of the Harley Davidsons, with a parade on Sunday;
• Sunday, May 10th at 11:00 AM: Giulivo Clown show, followed by performances by the Alfieri e Musici della Valmarina at noon and 3:00 PM.

With this debut, Empoli adds a new event to its calendar that successfully blends gastronomy, entertainment, and social interaction in an informal setting suitable for everyone.
