The flavours of Romagna in the heart of Gran Paradiso
The Twinning between Rhêmes-Notre-Dame and Solarolo celebrates the bond, established in 1999, between the small Aosta Valley municipality nestled in the Gran Paradiso National Park (Province of Aosta) and Solarolo, a town in Romagna in the Province of Ravenna. Every year, on the last weekend of July, coinciding with the Rencontre des Artisans de la Vallée, the Romagna delegation travels to the Rhêmes Valley, bringing the flavours and conviviality of their homeland.
The heart of the event is the food stand with an exhibition and sale of typical Romagna products, set up at the Salone Foyer de Fond and the Pro Loco pavilion in the hamlet of Bruil. For three days, piadina, cured meats, wines, and Romagna specialities engage in a dialogue with Aosta Valley tradition, in a meeting of tastes that is also a cultural exchange between the two communities.
The evenings are enlivened by live music and dancing evenings, with bands and concerts accompanying the festivities. A convivial event, with free admission, organised by the Pro Loco of Rhêmes-Notre-Dame, which unites two towns and two traditions in one of the most picturesque corners of the Aosta Valley.
The Twinning with Solarolo 2026 returns to Rhêmes-Notre-Dame from July 17 to 19, with the flavours of Romagna, dancing evenings, and live music, on the weekend of the Rencontre des Artisans.
Detailed program, including the artists for the music evenings, will be confirmed by the Pro Loco in the weeks prior.
Rhêmes-Notre-Dame can be reached from the SS26 state road (Aosta or Aymavilles motorway exit) by driving up the Rhêmes Valley to the hamlet of Bruil.
Admission is free; food services are charged.
The event takes place on the last weekend of July, over three days.
