The Trieste Trio Prize is an international chamber music competition named after the historic Trio di Trieste, one of the most beloved chamber ensembles of the 20th century. Organized by the Chamber Music Association, it awards the best young ensembles with piano and strings, attracting talents from all over the world to the city.

Duos, Trios, and Quartets with Piano

The competition is open to ensembles of duos, trios, and quartets with piano and strings, with a maximum average age of the members around 32 years. The competition rounds include multiple stages – from video pre-selection to live performances, leading to the semi-finals and finals – with candidates required to present a broad chamber music repertoire. The jury comprises some of the most authoritative international musicians and educators.

Between the Tartini Conservatory and the Miela Theatre

The competition venues are the Giuseppe Tartini Conservatory, with its Tartini Hall, and the Miela Theatre, where the semi-finals and finals are held. The highlight is the Winners' Concert, featuring the winning ensemble, recorded by RAI for broadcast on Radio3: an award that propels young performers towards an international concert career.
